Commercial Work and Commissions

Examples of Commercial Work Commercial work

After finishing College I worked as a freelance photographer doing portraits for national magazines, documentary work for others, interiors for a furniture manufacturer and obscure work for local designers.

Full-time teaching put a hold on this work but in recent years I've been involved in some interesting and trying commercial work. For the last two years I've been the official photographer for the Bideford Folk Festival; I've worked with Beaford Arts on documentary, music and design work for their website and promotional brochures, and Devon ArtsCulture have commissioned me to make promotional DVD packages to promote their events.

Photographing art for artists

I've also become increasingly interested in photographing artists work to make it look its best to a perspective client or gallery in digital or print form. Examples of all of this work can be seen via my links page.

"As a jewellery designer it is imperative that I have images that capture the vibrant colours and striking patterns of my designs. Having seen the amazing work of Dave Green, I did not hesitate to commission him to take publicity shots of Flambeaux Jewellery. I absolutely adore the way Dave Green has incorporated rocks into the imagery, cleverly drawing on two of my collections, Rocks ‘n' Roses and Rock Candy. Dave is totally in tune to his clients requirements as well as the environment."
- Razale Scott Olivier, Flambeaux Jewellery

"Dave Green photographed my artwork, stained glass and mosaic, which is notoriously problematic to photograph as the changing light throughout the time of day alters the colours within a piece, additionally there is the added difficultly of front lighting and back lighting a piece of work to capture the qualities of glass. Dave did a good job of photographing my work, and since, I finally possess good enough images to send off to the printers for postcards and various other publicity, I will be asking Dave to photograph future work."
- Paula Miller, chosen for the North Devon Open Art Exhibition 2009

Photographing Guest Houses and B&B's

For 2010 I'm offering the same excellent rate as last year for photographing local accommodation. A package of one exterior shot taken in sunshine and two interior shots of your choice (with colour balance and verticals corrected and stitched if necessary) is £99; or just an exterior photograph £49. If you're interested please call me on 01237 377789 or email info@greengallery.co.uk

Commissions

Wren Music commissioned me last year as an ‘arts' worker and documenter of their junk band, Recyc, undertaking a funded project the ‘River Taw, from Moor to Shore'. This work, in collaboration with musicians Nick Wyke and Becki Driscoll and the 14-16 year old band members, resulted in a video made up of stills shot at 4 frames per second, illustrating their journey through the writing, making and performing of music inspired by the River Taw and the journey of the river from it's source to the sea. Examples of all of this work can be seen via my links page.

Prices

Exact prices are always available once the time and materials estimate has been made for the work but as a rough idea:
