I’m a fully qualified photography teacher with over 25 years experience teaching the subject up to degree level in schools, colleges, arts organisations and in industry both in the UK and USA.

Following government guidelines, at this time of isolation due to Coronavirus, I’m only offering virtual photographic workshops which are 121, tailor-made, specific to your camera and computer, your interests and ability. As a self employed photographer I am not entitled to a government handout of 80% of my regular income. However, as times are hard for everyone, I will be as flexible as I am able from a one-off day course, to a regular few hours a week or fortnight from £25 per hour.

These workshops will also be designed around your ability to learn ‘virtually’, through Skype, Zoom, Facetime, email, texting or phone conversation. If you have access to technology I can help with the setting up of that to enable a virtual classroom experience.

Contact me via my Contact Page to discuss your Bespoke 121 Workshop or phone +44 (0)7530 508681

They could include elements of my established group workshops:

Or be designed around workshops that I deliver occasionally:

  • Painting with Light
  • Lightroom
  • Photoshop Elements
  • Studio Photography: Portraiture
  • Landscape Photography
  • Traditional SLR Camera Skills
  • Traditional photography using film
  • Darkroom Skills

Workshop Reviews

Thank you very much for your instruction it was very helpful indeed. We did come straight home and carried on with it so as not to forget everything. We thought we might attempt a few shots and download them and maybe return to you for some constructive criticism from a trained eye as it were! Will be in touch, and thanks for the invoice.
Kind regards, Trish & Phil – Burchill Interiors

Hi Dave. Thank you very much for the day yesterday; we all enjoyed the photography and the company. It was a good day out and I certainly learned some points from you. I look forward to welcoming you to Okehampton C C on the 10th.

Dear Dave, Thank you for your e-mail and letting me know of one of your courses.
I attended a few of your courses back in the days of Devon Arts Culture and the skills I gained have been useful ever since.? I am now writing for Popular Crafts and other craft magazines and have to take pictures which are used in publications.? I also have to present them in a story board as they are instructions to make something.
With best wishes, Debbie (Rag rugs)
